New York genre-less Hip-Hop collective WHATMORE releases the long-awaited new song “CHICKEN SHOP DATE” and the music video filmed in the local area, and Mike Relay is available at a late-night chicken shop

An introduction video of members of Japanese roots has also been announced at the same time.

WHATMORE, a New York-based Hip-Hop collective that breaks down genre walls, has released their new single, “Chicken Shop Date.” Following his debut song “Eastside W My Dogs,” he embodies the realistic voice and way of life of the New York youth scene.

This song was a team of five members: Cisco Swank, Yoshi T., Jackson August, Cebu ($eb) and Elijah Judah. All the members hold the microphone, and Elijah produced it, and the group’s raided back charm and close chemistry are beautifully combined.

At the same time, the music video for the song, directed by longtime collaborator Patrick Linehan, has also been released. The footage of them meeting in the middle of the night occupying a chichin shop in their hometown of Crown Heights is packed with the essence of New York. The members wander around the store while nocturnal locals watched with interest. It tells us that no New Yorker knows as well as New York as they do.

In addition, WHATMORE will release videos introducing the group’s members, entitled “INTROS” every time they release new songs. When the debut song “eastside w my dogs” was released, a video of Sebastiano, also known as Cebu, was released, but last Friday a new video introducing Yoshi T was released. The Japanese exchange with his father, who runs a sushi restaurant in New York, is truly heartwarming. Each time, “INTRO” introduces the diverse backgrounds of each member until they began their musical activities.

■What is WHATMORE?

WHATMORE was born in New York, a crucible of vibrant culture. The music group twists genre boundaries and captures the throbbing energy, diversity and creativity of their city. The five-member group consisting of childhood friends Cisco Swank, Yoshi T, Jackson August, Cebu ($eb) and Elijah Judah met at the prestigious LaGuardia High School and colluded with their passion for music. Their bonds grew stronger as they continued collaborations and DIY shows in the music scene in downtown New York and Brooklyn.

WHATMORE creates a unique genre-less sound that combines hip-hop, alternative R&B and indie rock. Member Cisco Swank is a rich musicality rooted in jazz, soul and hip-hop, Yoshi T is an unforgettable hook and sharp lyrics, Jackson August is a fresh sensibility like a youth film, Cebu adds poetic self-reflection and emotional depth, and Elijah Juda is a stubborn vision of production and engineering.

In this debut project, WHATMORE reflects the sensibilities of their generation, not bound by genre. While sticking to our DIY spirit, which is where we rest, we consciously combine various styles. As a new generation star with collaboration, advancedness and bold originality, he must be a new indicator for New York artists.
