Rira Ikuta’s new theme song “Humming” for Fuji TV’s “Mezamashi Doyoubi” will be released today! In addition, the music video will premiere today at 8pm!

The new song “Humming”, which will be the new theme song for Fuji TV’s “Mezamashi Doyoubi” from April, was released today. The song was written and composed by Ikuta Rira as the new theme song for “Mezamashi Doyoubi”. With a “Saturday” theme, it is a song that gently accompanies the different ways people start their mornings, some people enjoy their day off, while others get up and do their work or schoolwork. Please pay attention to the lyrics that describe the importance of being kind to yourself, which we tend to forget in our daily lives. The design of the distribution jacket is based on a photo of a cat stretching its body and yawning in the sunshine, which was also the basis for the song’s lyrics. The photo was taken by Ikuta herself, and the design is full of attention to detail, such as the handwritten letters of the song title “Humming” that Ikuta wrote herself.

Furthermore, it has been decided that the music video will be released today at 8pm. The music video was directed and shot by photographer/filmmaker Sara Masuda, born in 2001, who works as a director and cameraman for music videos for artists, as well as taking still photos for corporate advertisements, artist photos, and CD jackets. Sara has been a friend of Ikuta’s since her teenage years, and previously shot the jacket for her mini-album “Jukebox,” released in 2019.

The entire music video was shot with an 8mm film camera. It is a warm video that accompanies each morning, when we are busy with our busy lives and we are filled with various emotions, and makes us feel the importance of taking a moment to “breathe” in our daily lives. Please check it out.
