Formed in May 2022, redmarker is a rock band that is gaining momentum and is attracting attention, having performed at the on-air event of SUMMER SONIC 2023 in 2023 and recently been confirmed to appear at a live performance at O-WEST for the right to perform on-air at DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2024, hosted by SiM.
On the 29th of last month, they released their first full album, “redmarker[the red album],” which contains 10 songs. It is now available at Tower Records Shibuya, Tower Records Shinjuku …
In addition, a release tour of five locations has been scheduled to coincide with the album release, with the final performance being held on Wednesday, June 26th at Spotify O-Crest.
This album was released when all the members had just turned 20 years old, and contains a total of 10 songs, including 4 re-recorded songs they had written when they were teenagers, as well as new songs they had written since turning 20.
Their songs range from hip-hop elements to grunge and guitar rock, and despite not being bound by any particular genre, their catchy melodies are their greatest weapon. Another part of their appeal is their heartfelt lyrics that make you feel a little more love for even the most unreasonable and shitty of days.
Both feelings that have changed and feelings that have not changed have been recorded with great passion, making this album like a business card, filled with the raw, present-day redmarker, poured into it with all its might.
In addition, the music video for the lead song, M10, “nami,” was released the other day.
The video is full of fast-paced energy to match the music, and also expresses vocalist Itta’s feelings of longing for the sea in his hometown of Shonan while living in Tokyo. The dynamic performance scenes are reminiscent of an actual live performance, making this a representative work that will give you an instant understanding of what kind of band redmarker is.
