The UK three-piece indie rock band Tors, who have risen to prominence, will release their new EP “Miracle” on April 26th. With four songs, including the title track, already released, they have reached a new height. The strongest songs they have ever released and their nature-inspired a capella performance have achieved millions of views. They have also become a viral hit on social media. They are currently touring Europe with James Blunt, who is thrilling large arenas as a special guest.

“Miracle (Lyric Video)”

To produce the EP “Miracle,” Toles visited Woodstock, New York, three times and recorded with producer Simone Felice (Noah Kahn, The Lumineers, Jade Bird). Inspiring collaborators and the beautiful scenery and history of Woodstock brought out the best in them. Felice praised them, saying, “Their emotional singalongs have the power to heal and unite the soul.”

The band penned all six tracks on the EP “Miracle,” providing three-part vocal harmonies and playing multiple instruments themselves. Their natural talent comes from their ancestors: Matt and Theo Weeden are the grandsons of guitar legend Bert Wardon, known for the famous guitar instruction book “Play In A Day,” and Jack Bowden’s mother and sister are both music teachers.

Toles describes the EP Miracle as follows:

“Our EP, Miracle, is the most authentic and true Thors release we’ve ever made. The final songs feel and sound like the band we had in our heads. We recorded it in Woodstock, NY, hiding out in the wild forests and hills with Simone Felice. The process was filled with noise, laughter, and sheer dedication until we found our mission and what we were after. In the studio, we experienced scorching heat, bone-chilling snow, and everything in between. Thanks to the magical surroundings and Simone’s incredible guidance, we recorded our strongest songs to date. We’re thrilled to put this EP out there and can’t wait for what’s next.”

The spirit of Woodstock shines through on “Still Life,” the push from the new EP: an upbeat guitar-driven anthem that sounds like it was made for an epic road trip, yet is both uplifting and lamenting about a relationship approaching its final moments.

Thors explains:

“‘Still Life’ is about realising your relationship has become stale. You’re both living out what you’ve been told love is, and it’s comfortable but not truly happy. It’s a final rally, with the realisation that if you don’t try to change it now, it may stay that way forever.”

The six-track EP, Miracle, closes with another new song, “Heavy Hearts,” which epitomizes the multiplication of scale, magnitude and emotive beauty of Toles’ sound, capturing the heartbreak of being physically close yet emotionally distant.

“Heavy Hearts” is like an apology, written during a really difficult time in life, calling for us to own up to our mistakes and stop running blindly. It’s a song about pleading with loved ones to forgive us for the most shameful, horrible parts of ourselves.”

To celebrate the release of the EP, ‘Miracle’, Thors will be holding a special performance and signing session at Rough Trade East in London on May 2nd.
