Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist Blxst releases new song “Dance With The Devil” featuring Anderson .Paak

Grammy-nominated singer, rapper and producer Blxst today announced that he will release his debut album, I’ll Always Come Find You, on July 19th via Red Bull Records/EVGLE. In conjunction with the album announcement, Blxst also released a new song today, “Dance With The Devil,” featuring Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak. The dancefloor-defining duo bring their signature Southern California vibe to the groove, with plenty of live horns and climactic strings.

Speaking about the collaboration, Blxst said:

“I’ve been a fan of Anderson .Paak since his album Malibu. His artistic approach and tone of voice have inspired me as I have been discovering my own artistry. In the summer of 2023, he asked me to collaborate with Free Nationals (Anderson .Paak’s live band). I took this opportunity to ask him to appear on my debut album as well. The song is a perfect blend of two California artists, sonically satisfying at first listen. Conceptually, it’s a song about the tug-of-war with temptation in love and relationships.”

Blxst made his debut performance at this year’s Coachella Festival with a classic Buick Grand National gracing the stage and wearing a jacket with “Birdie” emblazoned on the back. A few weeks later, he released his single “Risk Taker” with rapper Offset and released a visualizer of the same car, with “Birdie” license plates, taking a late-night drive.

The album trailer, released last night, takes these concepts a step further, this time seeing Blxst don black chauffeur’s gloves and get into the driver’s seat of a Grand National before pulling up to a chauffeur-driven car repair shop called Evgle & Son.

Adding to the excitement for their first full-length album, Blxst adds:

“The things I had to overcome while making this album have changed my entire creative process and I feel like my fans deserve to see the growth from it. Nothing can stop me from reaching the heights I dreamed of when I first started out as an artist. There’s no time like the present.”

In addition to “Risk Taker” from the album, Blxst has already released the cross-cultural reggaeton hit “Rewind” with Colombian superstar Feid, which has racked up over 20 million streams. All three singles explore sounds outside of his signature LA-rooted R&B, previewing the multi-dimensional album to come.

Blxst also recently performed at Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out: Ken & Friends, and are nominated for Best Group at this weekend’s BET Awards, along with South Central native Bino Rideaux, representing their mixtape, Sixtape 3.

About Blxst

Not only is he a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer, but he is also a creative visionary who mixes, masters, and self-edits his own videos and artwork, and has built a new era of West Coast hip-hop and culture with his own hands. The South Central native taught himself to produce and record in high school, collaborating with YG, Mozzy, Snoop Dogg, and Nas. After releasing a string of buzzworthy singles in 2019, he formed an ironclad creative partnership with Bino Rideaux to release his critically acclaimed first album, Sixtape. In 2020, he partnered with Red Bull Records to release his solo debut EP, No Love Lost. Upon release, it peaked at #3 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart, #6 on Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25 Chart, #11 on the Trending 25 Chart, and his gold-certified single “Overrated” soared to #15 at urban radio. The deluxe edition of No Love Lost has amassed over 1.3 billion streams and the platinum-certified smash hit “Chosen” (feat. Ty Dolla $ign and Tyga) has charted on the Billboard Hot 100, garnering over 300 million streams in less than a year and reaching #1 at rhythmic and urban radio.

In 2021, he dropped the Just For Clarity 2-CD and Sixtape 2 with Bino Rideaux, earning a place in XXL’s coveted Freshman Class of 2021. He also won the Billboard Rising Star Award at the 2021 Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Summit. Amidst the excitement, he sold out every show on his Fall 2021 No Love Lost tour in 10 seconds.

Currently garnering over 2.8 billion streams, Blxst kicked off 2022 with an XXL Award for “Best New Artist of The Year” and released his second solo project, Before You Go, which peaked at #90 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned the rhythm and urban radio single “About You” and was nominated for “Best Male R&B/Pop Artist” at the 2022 BET Awards. During the tour, he won the AIM Award for “International Breakthrough” and received the “Rookie of the Year” award from Future at Billboard’s R&B & Hip-Hop Power Players 2022. After two sold-out hometown shows at the Hollywood Palladium, the LA Times reported that “Blxst is leading the new wave of LA hip hop.”

In November, he was nominated for two Grammy Awards, one for “Best Melodic Rap Performance” for his work with Amanda Leifer on Kendrick Lamar’s “Die Hard,” and another for “Album of the Year” for Lamar’s LP “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,” marking a new chapter in his career. He also received multiple “Best of 2022” titles from major opinion leaders, including the Associated Press, Rolling Stone, and the LA Times.

Paying homage to the city that raised him, Blxst will release the four-track Just For Clarity 2 EP in 2023, featuring respected, scene-shaping artists such as Roddy Ricch, Mustard, Terrace Martin, and Larry June. A bite-sized project with broad and diverse appeal, Blxst is confident yet self-aware, owing everything to his hometown of LA. The year closes with the highly anticipated third installment of his series with Bino Rideaux, Sixtape 3, where the duo brought their soulful melodies to sold-out shows on the West Coast.

Recognized as an “artist to watch” by Billboard, Complex, Pigeons & Planes, UPROXX and more, Blxst continues to forge his own path and lead the game.
