The band will hold their first solo concert, a spectacular performance that fully explores the unique style of MFS, and will release their digital single “Don’t” on July 3rd.

MFS held their first solo concert, “MFS 1st Full Album “COMBO” ONEMAN LIVE” at WWW in Tokyo on June 28th. The first thing that caught my eye as I entered the venue was a huge flower arrangement hanging from above the stage. The DJ booth was also decorated with tropical greenery and flowers, creating a stage that seemed to expand on the worldview of the “COMBO” album jacket.

The opening act was by RUI. As it was a sold-out performance, the floor filled up rapidly. RUI selected a wide variety of dance music including hip-hop, grime, and house. He warmed up the audience with his sophisticated yet dirty performance.

After enjoying RUI’s DJ for an hour, MFS appeared. She wore vintage denim, a white cotton tank top, and simple gold accessories. Her dreadlocks reached her waist, and her familiar sunglasses. She was rough but elegant. And yet her lyrics were unadorned, and her raps were bold. That contrast and sense are what make her so appealing. The live started with “BINBO”. Her impressive vocal volume and pronunciation immediately caught the vibe of the audience. In the first half, she rapped mainly on songs from her album, including her signature song “BOW”. The first guest was JJJ. The two of them smashed through “Drink” and “Mirror,” drawing huge cheers. Afterwards, MFS thanked the fans who came to her first solo concert, saying, “Thank you so much.”

In the middle part of the show, she sang songs with a calm tone, such as “Moonlight” and “Fall Pow”. What especially left an impression on me was her words in the song “Second Thought”, “There are many ups and downs in life, but let’s ignore them and live as ourselves”. From there, she moved on to “Enter”, featuring anddy toy store. She also showed the world of MFS with various sounds, such as the drum and bass “Blessyou” and “grind night”, which also showed her expressive singing. The audience naturally put their hands up during the early song “MYSELF”. After her familiar charming MC, “Wait. I forgot. Let’s all be happy”, she launched into “I DONT KNOW” with Campanella. After overwhelming the floor with her superb skills, she played the roots reggae tune “Fire Land” with a dope backbeat, and then moved on to “Chase Remix”. As a surprise, they debuted their new song “Don’t” produced by Stones Taro. The last song of the main show was the album’s title song “Combo”. They finished their first one-man live with a spectacular performance, rapping for about an hour without any overlay.

Another surprise was MFS’ DJ set after the concert. Instead of the booth on the stage where RUI was playing, they set up a booth in the audience and DJed there. MFS, who had changed into tight orange dresses, re-entered the stage while handing out tequila shots to the audience around them. They played dirty dance music in the style of RUI and kept the audience dancing until the very end. At the very end, they sang their new song “Don’t,” released on July 3rd, again close to the audience, concluding the best solo concert.

In addition, a solo concert in Osaka will be held on August 12th. Tickets are on sale from today, so if you missed the Tokyo concert, please take this opportunity to come. Also, the pre-add/save for the strongest digital single “Don’t,” scheduled for release on July 3rd, has started today, so please check that out as well.
