The UK alternative rock star bby has released a new single, “Kinky.” At the same time, they have released a music video for the song, which is causing a huge stir. They have also released their debut album, “1,” which includes the new song, “Kinky.” Less than a year after their debut with the single “hotline,” the band is on an even more successful trajectory.

We celebrate the incredible achievements that bby has made over the past 12 months and set the flag firmly in motion for the future.
Their true DIY ethos was present from the moment they met, formed the band online, and set up their rehearsal and party space, HQ, in East London.
Since their inception, the London-based band has been on a DIY path and has been generating a lot of buzz in the press, on the radio and at live shows, with endorsements from Rolling Stone, NME and Zane Lowe, and a Top 20 in the US alternative radio charts. All of this has driven them forward, encouraging them to have fun and reinventing the band, flying the flag in the UK DIY scene.
The group’s vocalist, Benji, had this to say about the album ‘1’:
“1 is an album about the beginning and end of relationships. Learning how to make a stranger the most important person in your room and then turn them back into a stranger without them harming you. But it’s quiet and writing-like. The nerve center is Hangs. We’ve been playing these songs since day one at HQ. We’ve been sweating, moshing, drinking, dancing and taking it all in live. We’ve played hundreds of different versions until they feel right. We’ve played together hundreds of times until we have 13 songs that tell the story we want to tell and get the room going the way we want to get it going. We met online about a year ago, started Hangs six months ago, and now we’re poised to release our first album.”
“Hotline”
The high energy, prolific five-piece has been giving us unconventional and awesome music since their debut single “Hotline”. “Money Body”, “Gold Teeth & Fenty”, “U Come Near”, “Kill Me” and “Breathe” have been released in quick succession. Their amazing success has led them to even greater heights, with their debut song “Hotline” reaching the top 20 on the US alternative charts and Zane Lowe adding them to his list of 24 artists for 2024 and professing to be a fan. In the UK, NME, Rolling Stone UK and Pigeons + Planes have featured them.
Benjy (vocals), Jessy (guitar), Tommy (guitar), Deon (bass), and Tom (drums) met online and hit it off. From hip-hop to R&B and alternative, they confidently bring together their influences to create a dynamic sound. bby was born from the fusion of various musical styles.
Their goal is to write and develop songs, produce their own music, and have a good time. Their meeting space hosts regular hangs, which are now flooded with fans. The chaos they create at their shows is evident in bby’s sound and music.
Fans, space, sweat and vibes, all intertwined together in bby. Willow Kane & SHIPO and others appeared as guests at the Hangs live, they made their festival debut at Leeds Festival, and appeared with The Strokes and Haim at All Points East Festival. Their live with Hemlock Springs at Dingwalls in London was a sold-out show.
