UK indie rock band Blossoms have released their new song “Perfect Me” and accompanying music video, directed by James Slater (Sam Fender, Jamie T, Yard Act), who previously directed the Blossoms’ video for “Young Girlfriend.”
“Perfect Me”
The new song “Perfect Me” is the third single from their upcoming album “Gary,” following their latest singles “Gary” and “What Can I Say After I’m Sorry?”. The two pre-released songs have already received great support from radio stations (Radio 1, Radio X, Absolute) and distribution sites (Summer Indie, Indie List, Antidote, ALT, CTRL).

Speaking about the new song “Perfect Me,” Blossoms lead singer Tom Ogden said:
“Perfect Me” was different to how we normally write songs. We usually write at home and bring it to friends. With this song, we started from scratch. We built it in the studio from scratch using synth sequences. It came out very naturally and is full of energy. It’s about a perfect existence that doesn’t exist in reality.”
Blossoms’ new album, Gary, was produced by regular collaborators The Coral’s James Skelly and Jungle’s Josh Lloyd Watson, who worked on their hits What Can I Say After I’m Sorry? and Nightclub. Irish singer CMAT also co-wrote two tracks on the album, I Like Your Look and Why Do I Give You The Worst Of Me?

Since forming in 2013, Blossoms has enjoyed great success and acclaim. Their debut album, Blossoms, topped the UK charts for two consecutive weeks in 2016, and they were nominated for a BRIT Award and a Mercury Prize. Their second album, Cool Like You, reached number four in the UK in 2018, and released anthems such as “I Can’t Stand It” and “There’s Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)”.
