■Rima’s first joint song with Mao Sasagawa, who has been her main composer since her debut, has been released.

Virtual singer Rima, affiliated with KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO/PHENOMENON RECORD, held her first live performance with an audience, her 3rd ONE-MAN LIVE “NEUROMANCE Ⅲ”, at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL on Sunday, September 15th.

The day before, on Saturday, September 14th, they also held the Kafu x Rima TWO-MAN LIVE “Singularity Live Vol. 3” at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL. Tickets for both days were SOLD OUT, and the live performances were also streamed online, creating a lot of excitement. During the encore of Rima’s solo live on Saturday, September 15th, they performed a new song under the name Rima x Sasagawa Mao, “Kimi ga Otona ni Nattanda.”

As Rima’s main composer, Mao Sasagawa has written most of her songs since her debut in 2019 up to the present, but this is the first time that the two of them have released a work together.

This song was released digitally at midnight on Monday, September 16th, just a few hours after its first live performance, and the music video premiered on YouTube.

The theme of this work is “the frustration and hidden envy of being left behind and left behind by ‘you'”, and it is a noisy and chaotic song with a post-hyper pop sound. The music video was directed by the up-and-coming creator, Zassou Movie.

When I listened to the song, the first thing that came to mind was the image of a door opening. I started by thinking about how to combine the powerful sound of the chorus with the image of a door opening.

Between childhood and adulthood. The nature of the river and the crowds of people in the city. I hope that the MV will make people feel the rush of growing into an adult! I really like the last lyric, “Even if I’m not loved, I won’t die because of that.” It’s so passionate.
