Italian rock band MÅNESKIN will be headlining “SUMMER SONIC 2024” to be held on August 17th and 18th. To commemorate their first headlining performance in Japan, the band’s frontman Damiano David (Vo) has collaborated with the hugely popular comic “Attack on Titan”, which he loves!
Suddenly released on MÅNESKIN’s official SNS was an illustration of the four band members transformed into “Titans,” which has a striking impact. The design is in the style of a “fake preview” familiar to “Attack on Titan” fans, and foretells their “invasion” at the upcoming “SUMMER SONIC.”

The illustration was drawn by artist Hajime Isayama and shows the band members, each transformed into a unique titan, performing at the Colosseum, a famous landmark in their hometown of Rome, illuminated by moonlight (“Måneskin” means “moonlight” in Danish), which is also the origin of the band’s name. The illustration is a perfect fusion of the worlds of both MÅNESKIN and “Attack on Titan”!
Damiano David performed an improvised rendition of the anime theme song “Kokoro wo Sasageyo!” during his first visit to Japan (Toyosu PIT performance in August 2022). He is also known as a die-hard fan of the series, having gotten a tattoo of the main character, Eren Yeager, on his arm, and made passionate comments about this collaboration.

I want to thank Isayama-sensei. It’s really amazing. All the details are beautiful and I loved it. (Omitted) I fell in love with Attack on Titan because of the crazy attention to detail and the way the story always develops in an unpredictable way, so it never ceases to surprise me. And the work has a very vivid feel to it, so I can immediately empathize with the characters and get immersed in the story. (Omitted) Once again, a huge thank you to Isayama-sensei.
