IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain announces retirement from touring


IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain announces his retirement from touring. The Sao Paulo performance held on December 7th was the last live performance with IRON MAIDEN.

Nicko said in a statement, “It has been an incredible journey over the last 42 years touring with IRON MAIDEN! To all of our loyal fans, we owe it to you and we love you! To my devoted wife Rebecca, you have always supported me and I love you. Thank you to my sons Justin and Nicholas for understanding my absence, I love you! To my friends who are always by my side, I love you! To all my bandmates, you made my dream come true, I love you!” Furthermore, he will continue to participate in various projects as a member of the IRON MAIDEN family.

In addition to Nicko’s statement, IRON MAIDEN’s official website and social media also posted a statement from manager Rod Smallwood on behalf of the band. Additionally, a new drummer has already been decided and will be announced soon.
