Kawade Shobo Shinsha Co., Ltd. has announced that it will publish its official visual book, “Iron Maiden Official Visual History,” commemorating the 50th anniversary of the formation of IRON MAIDEN, the top band that continues to lead the heavy metal scene!
This book is a Japanese translation of “Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams” (Thames & Hudson), which will be published in October. This is an unprecedented visual book that records the great trajectory of IRON MAIDEN, which has been a pioneer in the heavy metal movement that has been thrilling the whole world since the 1980s, and continues to sprint to the cutting edge as of 2025, and the full picture of its uncompromising creation.
From the band formed in 1975, their self-titled debut album, Iron Maiden (1980), their famous breakthrough “The Number Of The Beast” (1982), their masterpiece “Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son” (1988), their reunion after a breakup and encounter, and their latest album, Senjutsu (2021), which sparked a global frenzy, IRON MAIDEN has been the norm for their own work and fans, which has continued to be the authority on the worldview of metal. This book reveals the full picture for the first time how its uncompromising vision, fearless creativity and fiery ambition have led to a global phenomenon that transcends generations.
The story follows the changes in the mascot character “Eddie” that has been with the band since their debut, along with comments from creator Derek Riggs, and includes valuable records of the production of stage art, lighting, sound, and other stages, with the magnificent and detailed tastes that captivate audiences around the world. From treasured photos that vividly depict the behind-the-scenes scenes, artwork from albums and singles, instruments that are loved by members, stage props, and rare items such as handwritten lyrics notes, the band’s archives and collections of members. It includes a preface by Steve Harris (Ba) and an afterword by Bruce Dickinson, as well as a wealth of testimonials from members and those involved that can only be read here.
