Dustbox drummer YU-KI to leave the band after “KOSHIROCK GALAXY 2024” in October

Dustbox’s drummer YU-KI has announced that he will be leaving the band after their live performance at “KOSHIROCK GALAXY 2024” to be held on October 11th and 12th.

According to an announcement on the official website and social media, after discussions between the band members and staff, they have decided to respect YU-KI’s wish to end the tour with the 25th anniversary tour, and that the live show at Toyosu PIT, which is the culmination of the tour, will be the final performance under the current lineup.

Even after YU-KI’s departure, dustbox will continue performing live with a support member on drums.

It felt like it was over in a flash
At our first live performance after joining the band, Suga and I told Yuuki, “It’s okay! It’s okay to make mistakes, as long as the performance doesn’t stop, just enjoy yourself!”, but we ended up making a ton of mistakes (laughs).
I felt so sorry for him then.

The style hasn’t changed over time.
I thought I was supporting him, but he was always supporting me.

During this discussion,
When I asked him, “Will you continue making music after you leave?” he said, “I’m thinking about doing it!”
I was so happy to hear this!

That’s why I don’t want her to graduate while she’s still in pain, and I want her to enjoy the live shows up until Toyosu in October!
Even after I decided to graduate, I was still very concerned about the next drummer.
The members haven’t been decided yet, but I’m happy.

Hmm, I’m just saying nice things.

I’m lonely! I’m really lonely!!
I still want to keep him if possible, and I wanted to stay with him until the band ended.

It’s been about 10 years since Yuki joined.
At first, his face was always tense, but from around the second year, I remember feeling happy as more and more people started looking happy.

Yuki has a serious personality, so I know he practiced a lot, and it was interesting to see him grow and improve.
I knew he was having a lot of worries during that time, and he even came by my room unexpectedly during a tour.

Yeah. I like Yuuki as a person more than I like the drummer, so I’m sad, but oh well.
I thought it was Yuki’s decision, but I probably made him hesitate a lot by saying that I wanted him to go a little further.

Anyway, thank you for playing as dustbox’s drummer for so long!

I’m sure it was difficult at the beginning, since you felt like you were suddenly thrown into the mix, and I may have made you feel uncomfortable a lot, but I’m sure we had a lot of fun together.
It was fun to see how hard he put effort into arranging the songs.

I can’t quite put my thoughts together, but anyway, thank you for being a member for almost 10 years.
Thanks to Yuuki, I was able to realize my own shortcomings.

However, Yuuki will be leaving the band after the KOSHIROCK GALAXY shows on the 11th and 12th of October, but as the three of us had talked about it the other day, we don’t want to end on a sad note, so we want to enjoy the rest of the tour and live shows to the fullest, and be able to greet the final day with a smile on our faces.
After talking it over with George and I, we decided to continue with Dustbox.
I think we’ll be performing with support members for a while, but we’ll continue performing live.
