TOKYO ISLAND 2024, a music festival to be held at Umi no Mori Park (forest creation area), a vast park conveniently located about 15 minutes by car from Tokyo’s Odaiba district, has announced its fourth lineup of performers along with performance dates!
A total of six groups were announced this time. This year, the pre-event “Mow the Grass and Have a Toast!” will be held on September 14th. It is a traditional party where participants can mow the grass together, tour the park, and finish with a toast and social gathering. Participation is free, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until September 12th, so be sure to check early and participate!
■Message from “TOKYO ISLAND” Captain Jun Kano
The third TOKYO ISLAND is just over a month away.
We are pleased to announce six new artists as the fourth wave of performers.
This is the first time the festival has been held for three days, and on the final day we took on the challenge of holding a collaboration to celebrate androp’s 15th anniversary for the first time, but thanks to everyone’s support, we were able to bring together such a wide range of top artists to this festival. Over the three days, a total of 36 artists will be performing their best live shows at this year’s Island. Please open your mind and body and enjoy the festival.
By the way, you may be wondering what the “androp ISLAND Session” is, the additional artist on the final day. This is a special live performance that can only be experienced on this day and at this time, where androp will accompany various guest vocalists and perform separately from the time when androp will perform with their regular band set. We proposed that we celebrate androp’s anniversary together with them in the open atmosphere that only a festival can offer, and both the band and the wonderful guest vocalists readily agreed. They have already had one rehearsal, and I’m really looking forward to it.
I think this will be a session that will show the essence of the members, who have been performing live and recording with various artists, including Uchizawa-kun, who has had various experiences and taken on various musical challenges for 15 years and continues to write songs for many artists. Let’s have fun.
Next, we will finally announce the timetable for the three days. We will announce it soon. At the same time, we will also announce the guest vocalist for androp ISLAND Session. Wow, it’s a surprise.
The vast Sea Forest Park (scheduled to open next spring!) is being rapidly developed, making it much more comfortable than previous festivals. Many attractions and events that are the specialty of this festival other than the live music will be held again this year.
A wide variety of “workshops” that everyone from children to adults can enjoy
“Musical Fireworks” set to famous songs have been held since last year.
“Asoviva” offers playground equipment where you can run around and play to your heart’s content
This year, as a special event just before the park opens, there will be a free “Camping” event (bonfires and BBQs are also allowed!)
Dinosaurs are lurking!? A “Dinosaur Exploration Tour” where you ride through the forest with a guide.
The “Tyrannosaurus Race” was a big hit at VIVA LA ROCK, where both children and adults could run around like Tyrannosaurus.
Let’s improve yourself in a fun and elegant way! “Yoga Experience”
Please come and play with your pet at “Pet Land” (a space similar to a dog run).
There are festival food stalls, but this time I thought long and hard and decided to offer a “concept meal.” It will be something innovative for festival food, but still very everyday food.

We want to create a new musical paradise. We want to create a time where families and friends can have fun all day long. We want to imagine something special that can be experienced in a huge, conveniently located park that is like an oasis in the city. We want to depict new possibilities and a sense of freedom in Tokyo. Festivals have become commonplace in this country, but TOKYO ISLAND has begun to dream of something that goes beyond the ordinary, something “not extraordinary but super ordinary.” We are still halfway there for our third event, but we sincerely hope that you will join us in making this dream come true, and we will do our best to prepare and hold the event.
On October 12th, 13th, and 14th, TOKYO ISLAND 2024 will be waiting for you at Umi no Mori Park, which is still normally closed to the public.
Oh, by the way, we will be holding our annual pre-event “Cheers after cutting grass!” on September 14th at the venue before October. If you are wondering what Umi no Mori Park is like, please come and experience it for yourself. It’s fun.
