It has been decided that MUCC will appear at the Ikebukuro EDGE performance on October 26th, “KHIMAIRA vol.6”, a competition event for young visual kei bands that serves as a gateway to success!
This event started with 3 days held in April this year. Celebrating the first year of the new generation of visual kei, the event is being held as a regular event at Ikebukuro EDGE, which can be considered a mecca for visual kei bands. “KHIMAIRA” is a story of growth in which an up-and-coming young band that has just been formed plays against a legendary band that would be impossible to find in everyday life, and is inspired by that performance. So far, the likes of YUKI-starring Raphael-, Royz, DaizyStripper, and deadman have appeared as special guests, conveying the history and will of the visual kei scene behind their backs.
And this time in vol.6, MUCC finally appears. Shuichi Yamauchi, who organizes the event, directly discussed the possibility of appearing, saying, “I want young bands to experience a world they have never experienced before.” Leader Miya (Gt) heard the idea and immediately decided to make the premium decision. It will be a great performance. This will be the first time for MUCC, which has entertained major venues in Japan such as Nippon Budokan and Makuhari Messe, to perform at Ikebukuro EDGE, which has a maximum capacity of 250 people.
MUCC held a tour called “Love Together” that lasted for about two months starting in June of this year, and toured the country together with various junior bands as guest bands. This action is clearly MUCC’s way of loving and interrogating the scene as they wait for the arrival of an exciting band that will light their butts on fire. They also say that they were amazed at the ability and talent of a new generation of bands whose careers had come a long way from theirs. That’s why this performance was made possible, with MUCC appearing as equals rather than as special guests.
This time, appearing on “KHIMAIRA vol.6” are CHAQLA. and MAMA., who have already performed with MUCC on the “Love Together” tour and left a big impact. Furthermore, NAZARE, which is actively performing overseas, and “#death”, which is gaining momentum based in Kyushu, are four groups. Both are bands that represent the new generation, and having listened to MUCC’s music and actually attending their live shows as kids, I have been greatly influenced by them. Furthermore, they were not informed of their collaboration with MUCC this time, and will only find out about this fact after seeing this news.
