It has been decided that the “52nd New Year Rock Festival” will be held at Shibuya Stream Hall on December 31st!
Japan’s longest-running New Year’s Rock Festival, Japan’s longest-running New Year Rock Festival, was started in 1973 by founder Yuya Uchida with the slogan, “Kohaku is not the only festival.” HIRØ (Kaiki Gesshoku/Sheep living on the edge) was forced to perform without an audience due to the coronavirus pandemic since he became a producer for two years, but the 50th anniversary was finally celebrated with an audience, and last year was the 50th anniversary. Reborn as +1. In order to create history and new history, the 52nd “New Year Rock Festival” will be held on New Year’s Eve this year as well!
The participating artists will be announced in due course. Tickets are on sale until November 28th on a first-come, first-served basis.
Comments from executive producer HIRØ are as follows.
It’s finally the end of the year, and the New Year Rock Festival is celebrating its 52nd year. It was first held in Shibuya 52 years ago, and has since been held in various locations such as Asakusa and Ginza. After successfully celebrating our 50th anniversary in Ariake, we have returned to Shibuya since last year!
At the tip of Shibuya, where new urban planning is underway, we hope that NYRF will also be able to create a legacy for the future with all of our visitors. Take a new step!
