The documentary film “To All Young Bastards” commemorating the 25th anniversary of STANCE PUNKS will be screened in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka!
Since its formation in 1998, STANCE PUNKS has been running through the Japanese punk rock scene at the forefront and has gained passionate support across generations. The documentary film “To All Young Bastards” to commemorate their 25th anniversary has finally been completed. It has been decided that the screening of events will be held for one night in three cities: Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya!
The director is Fukasaku Kenta, known for his work for “Battle Royale II: Requiem.” The glory and setbacks from the band’s formation to the present day, the conflicts between the members, and the unwavering belief in music are depicted in valuable live footage and candid interviews.
■Comments by Director Fukasaku Kenta
The 25 years of STANCE PUNKS coincides with the 25 years I and everyone have been living there. Enjoy a momentary festival at the cinema with many famous songs and precious treasured footage.
■TSURU (Vo) Comments
Everyone reminded us of the paths we took, both good memories and things we didn’t want to remember. Looking back at punk rock is unfair, but I hope you come and take a peek.
It’s a bit embarrassing, though, because it’s not a band that makes documentary films.
Come on everyone! It’s punk rock time. Let’s live and meet again!
This work was also realized with the passionate support of fans. The project, carried out on the crowdfunding site “Ubugoe,” attracted over 10 million yen in support, which was well above the target amount, and was packed with a true punk spirit created by the band and fans as one another.
On May 17th, the memorable first day of screening, Shinjuku Wald 9 will be holding a stage greeting with all STANCE PUNKS members and director Fukasaku Kenta after the screening is over! This is a truly premium night, with members talking about the truth about the band that has been around for a quarter century, the feelings they put into film, and the meaning of life with punk. Tickets for this rare opportunity will be available for advance orders at eplus from 11:00 on April 29th.
In addition, a solo live tour in the same city has been decided to be held on the same day in conjunction with screenings in various locations! This is an unprecedented linkage project in which you can experience the passion of STANCE PUNKS in a movie and experience the passion directly at the live house. Special gifts will also be provided to those who bring a stub of the movie to the live venue. Details will be announced at a later date.
In addition, live streaming will be held on the STANCE PUNKS official YouTube channel starting at 9pm on April 29th, with all members appearing. In addition to discussing the highlights of the film, the behind-the-scenes stories, and their enthusiasm for the tour, he plans to answer questions from fans.
Experience STANCE PUNKS’s 25 years of experience in two locations: a screen and a live house. I hope they will accept the exposed energy and message they emit with their whole body.
