MÅNESKIN frontman Damiano David’s latest single, “Next Summer,” has been released! This song, which is sure to become a future anthem, will be from Damiano’s solo project.
Damiano said about the song on his social media: “The first impression I heard was that young people’s love… it’s a song that talks about summer romance that doesn’t come true. But if you dig deeper, you’ll find a much greater introspection. It’s the allegory of life. People can be trapped in themselves, their fears, their own anxiety, their insecurities, and their inability to change. At the crucially important and critical moments of existence, they can no longer see the world or life from a different perspective.”
It is worth noting that they express the faint memories of one summer, which everyone has experienced at least once, in a way that they are very much in their own way.
The music video for the song will also be released worldwide at 10pm today, February 28th, Japan time (1pm Greenwich Mean Time)!
Damiano David – Next Summer (Official Video)
The memorable music video, which alternates between tension, vibrations and calm and graceful moments, follows Damiano as a prisoner in prison. The story of the music video embodies the idea that it is not the outside world that humans are trapped, but the fear they have.
Damiano said of the music video: “When we lack the power to confront change, our mind can become prison. We are stuck in a cage made up of fear, assumptions, and anxiety. Fear that may be inadequate, fear that may not be successful, fear that may not be able to meet the expectations of others, traps us. Confronting our own vulnerability is courageous. Being able to accept our own individuality is the first fresh air we breathe in.”
The video that beautifully expresses the world of the song is a must-see!
