Swedish metal giant THE HAUNTED has announced that it will release its 10th studio album, Songs Of Last Resort, on May 30th, for the first time in about eight years!
This is a confident work that has been mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren, who has worked on KREATOR, ARCH ENEMY, SEPULTURA and more. The lead single “Warhead” was released today! As symbolized by this song, the lyrics reflect the current world situation. The artwork will be re-manufactured by longtime visual collaborator Andreas “Diaz” Petterson, and the album cover photo has also been released. The music video by Patric Ullaeus is coming soon.
THE HAUNTED vocalist Marco Aro commented on the song, “This is the first single of his new album, Songs Of Last Resort. “Warhead,” and it’s an offensive statement about the absolute horror of the world we have to live in now.”
“When I wrote this song, I thought I could write a good album. I immediately recorded and worked on the main riff while I was on the way to work, and while the inspiration from this one riff was still giving me goosebumps, I quickly recorded and worked on it. The lyrics are about a variety of people being “war chiefs” and thriving in some way through war. The sound FX for the intro was written with Örjan Örnkloo (formerly MISERY LOVES COMPANY/Gt/Prog). (The album’s songs “To Bleed Out” and “Letters Of Last Resort”). “I think it’s no exaggeration to say that this song could settle on our live sets for years to come.”
