METALLICA releases remastered edition of the 6th album "Load" on 6/13! There's also a deluxe version containing unreleased audio!

METALLICA has announced that it will remaster its sixth studio album, Load, which has sold over 5 million copies, and release it on June 13th!

It will be remastered by Reuben Cohen under the direction of producer Greg Fidelman and released in deluxe box sets, 3CD, 1CD, 180g 2LP, cassettes and digital distribution (including spatial audio). The Japanese version will be released in 3CD (Remastered Deluxe) and 1CD with high-quality CDs that can be played by regular players and SHM-CD specifications.

Pre-orders for albums began to begin with the announcement, and four tracks will be released digitally, including “Until It Sleeps (Remastered),” “Until It Sleeps (Herman Melville Mix),” “FOBD (Until It Sleeps” rough chorus vocal idea mix), and “Until It Sleeps (Live at Slim’s, San Francisco, CA – June 10th, 1996). A lyric video for “Until It Sleeps” has also been released.

The 3CD, 2LP, and Digital Deluxe feature an extended version of “The Outlaw Torn” for the first time. The 1996 original album included an edited version due to CD recording time restrictions (the version of the original album is included on 1 CD).

The limited edition deluxe box set, imported edition, is an ambitious and comprehensive time capsule of Metallica from 1995 to 1997, and includes a wealth of unreleased demos, rough mixes, live audio, and radio and television appearances. It will include three analogue versions (2LPs of “Load (Remaster), “Mama Said” picture discs, 3 LPs of “Lollapalooza ’96” live performances), 15 CDs (2LPs of “Lollapalooza ’96”), riffs, demos, rough mixes, B-sided, live music), 4 DVDs (featuring behind the scenes, studios, live performances, radio and television appearances, etc.), a 128-page book, tour pass, guitar and bass picks, patches of pass heads, and a Lollapalooza poster.

“Load,” released on June 4, 1996, was METALLICA’s second album to hit number one on the US album charts, and it remained at number one for four consecutive weeks. It was an ambitious work full of musical adventures that took about a year at The Plant Studios in San Francisco, and became a new important work in METALLICA’s catalogue. At this time, they produced songs that could not be included in one album, and the following year, 1997, “Reload” was released. Of the four singles from Load, two songs, “Until It Sleeps” and “King Nothing” are regularly featured in the set list for the “M72 World Tour” of their latest album, “72 Seasons,” and are thrilling fans around the world.
