INORAN has announced that they will be releasing their new album, “Niraikanai -Rerecorded-” on September 24th, on their first band tour “SONIC DIVE 2025”, which marked the finals at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO today, May 18th!
As the title suggests, this work is a re-recorded version of the memorable fourth solo album, “Nirai Kanai,” which was released in 2007, marking the 10th anniversary of his solo career. The ambitious work that sings Japanese lyrics will be released as a new album, with INORAN’s trusted band members u:zo (Ba) and Ryo Yamagata (Dr).
In a conversation with Joe Yokomizo about why he is re-recording Nirai Kanai as of 2025, INORAN cited the keyword “returning to his roots” as his keyword, saying:
-Why do we need to go back to our roots now?
I had experiences from last year and the year before…I took a tour of various albums at LUNA SEA. Something… felt like I was driven by it. I have gone to various places to go on an adventure and have updated it. To put it more simply, we update it every day. So, once again, in that place, where I visited before… what would I think of the feelings I have now and experiences I’ve had in my current environment, when I go back, living in the current environment? That’s what
-Is there any concrete reason why you chose “Nirai Kanai” or is it intuitive?
Of course, I love all the albums I make. But for some reason, there are many people who love this album. Every time someone says something like, “Let’s do an encore tour,” they say, “I don’t want to, because I want to go first.” It’s not that I’m going to abandon the past, and I’ll never forget it. The adventure spirit is “Because there’s more I want to see.” But there are things that revive and tremble in your heart at a moment, right? It was here. Yes, I thought I needed to go back here now.
“Niraikanai” is an album with Japanese lyrics. That’s also charming. I’m not going to change my desire to ride again, but there are certainly some scenery with a different spread…Yes, I want to enjoy it.
Let’s go back to its roots. This will bring out a new theme of adventure. I made this and of course I did that tour. On top of that… when it comes to mountains, I would like to try climbing places like the West Wall route of K2 where no one has climbed. Or, I would like to challenge even higher mountains. To do that, we need to go back now. I was about to find out what I wanted to do. That’s one of the motivations I made today
