Legendary pop punk band MEST releases their first new album in about four years, "Youth"! A single featuring Kenta Koie (Crossfaith) is also available!

MEST, the legendary Chicago pop punk band, has released their first new album in about four years, a seven-song EP titled “Youth” digitally!

It has been about four years since the release of their seventh full-length album, “Masquerade,” in January 2020, before the world was shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic. The mini-album “Youth” contains seven catchy MEST classics, including the popular single “When We Were Young (Feat. BOWLING FOR SOUP)” featuring Jaret Reddick (BOWLING FOR SOUP), “Hate You Sober Featuring Spencer Charnas Of ICE NINE KILLS” with guest appearance by Spencer Charnas (ICE NINE KILLS), and “Barely Hanging On featuring Adrian Estrella Of ZEBRAHEAD” with Adrian Estrella (ZEBRAHEAD).

A lot of the inspiration for the songs on this mini album came during drives to the recording studio.
I listened to a lot of the songs I listened to when I was a child in Los Angeles, and many memories and places came back to me in the songs.
Looking back on memories from the past, we create memories for the new era.
These songs are a cheer to the past and a toast to the future.

I couldn’t believe it when Tony sent me a DM saying, “I want Ken to sing a song.” I was listening to a band in my youth, and even went to see them when they came to Japan, so I thought to myself, what a dream band. Then I received the song, and I was so happy in the studio that I laughed, “This is full of MEST!” At the same time, I thought there was no point in me just singing the lyrics he wrote, so I added screams to the chorus and it became more like me. I want young people who don’t know MEST to listen to it! MEST IS NOT DEAD!
