THE OFFSPRING releases new song “Light It Up”! New album “Supercharged” domestic CD release confirmed!

THE OFFSPRING has released a new song, “Light It Up,” from their new album, “Supercharged”!

Speaking about the newly released “Light It Up,” vocalist and guitarist Dexter Holland said, “This song is a giant trailer going full speed ahead! The character in this song is fed up and has had enough. He wants to stand up and fight. And I feel that feeling strongly around me. Some of the songs I loved growing up were just punk bands saying, “I’ve had enough,” and expressing those feelings wasn’t a negative thing. I think that’s close to the vibe of “Light It Up.” You’re fed up, you can’t take it anymore, and you want to do something. I think that’s one of the charms of punk rock. You’ve always been able to express your aggressive feelings, and that hasn’t changed. I still love writing these kinds of songs.”

It has also been decided that the Japanese version of the album “Supercharged” will be released on CD! The Japanese version will be a 2-disc SHM-CD set including a bonus disc, which will include commentary, lyrics, and lyrics translations. The bonus disc contains four songs from the 30th anniversary live concert held at the Honda Center in Anaheim on June 1st of this year, one of which is a live version of the RAMONES classic “Blitzkrieg Bop” as a bonus track for the Japanese version.
