David Coverdale's three solo albums are revived under the name WHITESNAKE! The deluxe 6-CD box set "Into The Light: The Solo Albums" will be released in Japan on November 6th!

David Coverdale is a great vocalist who has left his mark in rock history as the frontman of DEEP PURPLE and as the founder/frontman of WHITESNAKE. Three solo albums that he has released so far in his brilliant career, “White Snake” in 1977, “Northwinds” in 1978, and “Into The Light” in 2000, have been remixed and remastered, reinterpreted and reconstructed under the name “WHITESNAKE”, and reborn in the modern era with even more charm!

The deluxe 6-CD box set, titled “Into The Light: The Solo Albums”, will be released overseas on October 25th and in Japan on November 6th as a domestic import version. In addition to the 6-CD box set, a 2-CD vinyl set containing the latest 2024 remix version of the album “Into The Light” is also scheduled to be released overseas. The latest 2024 remix version of “Midnight Blue” included in the box set has now been released, and pre-orders for the Japanese version of the 6-CD box set have also started.

This “Into The Light: The Solo Albums” includes the 2024 latest remix version, additional remix, and 2024 latest remastered sound source of the original mix of the solo album “Into The Light” released in 2000, as well as the 2024 latest remix version and 2024 latest remastered sound source of the original mix of the first two works, “White Snake” in 1977 and “Northwinds” in 1978, which he released under his solo name after leaving DEEP PURPLE, and the precious home demo sound source from 1968. This box set also includes a 60-page hardcover book with detailed liner notes including rare photos and the latest interview with David Coverdale, and the imported domestic version of the Japanese version to be released on November 6th will also include a separate booklet with a complete translation of the detailed liner notes and a bilingual translation of the lyrics.

The latest 2024 remix versions of each album, which have been significantly updated while reconstructing the songs, provide listeners with a more dynamic sound experience. In particular, the 70’s “White Snake” and “Northwinds” have been reborn with innovative voice extraction technology made possible by the use of cutting-edge audio separation software. In particular, the song “Time & Again” from “Northwinds” has been recorded here as a completely new song, extracting the original vocals and adding new string and piano arrangements that Coverdale had envisioned decades ago. In addition, for fans who want to listen to the original mixes that they have been familiar with for a long time, the latest 2024 remastered sound source of the original mix is also included, reviving the excitement of the time while giving you a fresh shock with the newly reconstructed songs.

Northwinds also features newly arranged tracks, as well as additional tracks such as “Sweet Mistreater” and “Shame The Devil, Tell The Truth,” breathing new life into this classic 70s album.

Coverdale’s third solo album, “Into the Light,” was recorded with a distinguished line-up of guitarist Earl Slick, known for his work with David Bowie, bassist Marco Mendoza, who would later join Whitesnake, legendary drummer Denny Carmassi, who also worked with Montrose and Whitesnake, and keyboardist Mike Finnigan, who has played with Jimmy Hendrix. The box set includes newly remixed and expanded versions of the original tracks “Let’s Talk It Over” and “All the Time in the World,” as well as a variety of remixes, demos, and outtakes from the album, including “With All of My Heart,” one of Coverdale’s best songs, which he wrote for his wife.

The collection also features rare and unreleased demos from Coverdale’s archives, including tracks that would later appear on Whitesnake albums. For example, “Lay Your Love On Me” was released in 2008 as “Lay Down Your Love” on Good To Be Bad, and “Crazy’ Bout Cha” evolved into “Whipping Boy Blues” on Forevermore in 2011. The collection also features demos Coverdale recorded at home as a teenager, including an early version of “Sunny Days,” which appeared on his debut solo album, WhiteSnake.

These three albums were originally released as David Coverdale’s solo albums, but he now considers these three works to be “WHITESNAKE” works.

　
If I am known by the public as “Mr. Whitesnake,” then I began to think that these albums belong to that group. To me, every album is a WHITESNAKE album. I decided to remix them again this time so that I could release them as WHITESNAKE and have a more dignified presence compared to any of my albums.
