VELVET REVOLVER’s debut album “Contraband” will be released on CD exclusively in Japan on September 25th to commemorate their 20th anniversary!
VELVET REVOLVER was formed in 2003 by Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum of GUNS N’ ROSES, along with Scott Weiland of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. Their debut album “Contraband” released the following year was a huge hit, debuting at number one on the US charts and selling double platinum (over 2 million copies). They were also nominated for three categories at the 47th Grammy Awards, and their single “Slither” won the “Best Hard Rock Performance” award.
This 20th anniversary edition is a newly remastered version that includes six additional tracks, including covers of SEX PISTOLS, CHEAP TRICK, AEROSMITH, NIRVANA, and PINK FLOYD, which were included on the B-sides of singles and the tour edition of the album at the time, and is available exclusively on CD in Japan. The format is a paper jacket with LP artwork. In addition, this work will be released digitally and on analog LP on September 13th overseas, but only the first shipment of imported analog LP will be released with a Japanese obi.
