waterweed’s new album “Departures” was released today, and the music video for the last song “Hope” has been released!

The journey of this album, which is not a short one with 18 songs in total, begins with the song “Terminal” and ends with “Hope”. Terminal is the well-known “end point”. In some cases, the word even gives off an air of “end”, which has negative connotations such as final stage, misery, and destruction.The song is about the sound of the soles of shoes walking in the city, the commotion that fills everyday life, and the members’ allies. It is played on the biwa played by the Japanese lute. It’s not a bright start. However, after passing through the next 16 songs, when we reach the final act entitled “Hope”, my heart is spinning as if there is some kind of positive sign. It’s not something that shines blindly, but it certainly shines.

In fact, the title “Departures” not only means “departure,” but also has nuances such as “leaving” and “leaving,” as well as “new development.” At the end, the song “Hope” is sung, and the song heads back toward “Terminal.” And once again, the daily life that I can’t be happy about begins again.
