A new generation funk band formed in 2014 with drummer Toshiyuki Sasaki as the leader, armed with a diverse range of musical styles from jazz to funk, disco, soul, and hip-hop. Toshiyuki Sasaki (ds), Shigeki Umezawa (bs), Mariko Nakabayashi (key)
Taking inspiration from Bob James’s song “Nautilus” and incorporating images of the real submarine Nautilus, he pursues the rare groove sound of the 70’s and creates a deep worldview that takes you to the deep sea.
Many of the works he has released so far have been highly acclaimed overseas, and he toured Germany for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024, including the Berlin jazz festival “X JAZZ!”.
As of 2024, he continues to release works at an astonishing rate, with a total of 28 7-inch albums and 12 full-length albums in Japan and overseas.
