In choking scenes, you need a voice that thrusts through the noise, presents something unconventional and thoroughly unconforming.
In her own path as an artist, I Hate Models deviates from a standardized structure and instead focuses on emotional responses. The energy that dance music possesses functions as a vessel for his own emotions and as a tool to manipulate others’ minds.
The mood spectrum, expressed on his work, DJ sets and label Disco Inferno, ranges from nostalgia and passion to loneliness, to depressing and brutality, often juxtaposed with the same pulsation of darkness and light, and his own artistic self-assessment. It functions as a genuine conduit.
In his previous journeys, he has released music on a variety of labels, from Arts to Perc Trax, and Perc Trax released his 2019 album, L’Âge Des Métamorphoses. He also has remixed artists such as Depeche Mode, and the monster edit of the track “Toro” took the world by storm. This is a fitting rush of large sets he takes on, including headlining world-renowned festivals such as Ultra and EDC, as a symbol of hard dance cutting edge and passionate fans all over the world. It’s a warning.
His constant ignoring expectations and customs creates dynamic and ambitious music that is never bound by a single source, while experiencing the fruits of techno, industrial and trance. In the microcosm of a single track, the energy shifts from a fierce rhythm to an enchanting atmosphere and vice versa. The moment a pearly melodic waterfall gives way to pieces of metal plates, and thunderous percussion is counteracted by softly carved sine waves.
He is not afraid to reinterpret himself, and is boldly leaning towards a change of style like the emotional Forever Melancholia EP, making it a very natural part of his artistic trajectory.
It is of course perfectly intended that I Hate Models’ further adventures feel completely endless. General constraints are unnecessary for real catharsis.
