Hotei Tomoyasu's latest album in the "GUITARHYTHM" series, "GUITARHYTHM VIII" will be on sale on Wednesday, April 16th!

Universal Music LLC (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Nao / hereinafter referred to as Universal Music) will release Hotei Tomoyasu’s new album, “GUITARHYTHM VIII,” on Wednesday, April 16th.

It’s been 37 years since “GUITARHYTHM,” which made his solo debut in 1988. This is the eighth album, and includes a total of 12 songs, including gorgeous and liberating songs with the scent of 80’s and New Wave, as well as cool and exciting songs with solid cutting guitars. .

The releases will be available in four different versions: “Deluxe Edition A”, “Deluxe Edition B”, “Limited Edition” and “Regular Edition”, and “Deluxe Edition A” comes with live footage of all the songs from Nippon Budokan’s live performance “LIVE IN BUDOKAN ~The HOTEI~ “Super Hits & History”” held last December, featuring the first day (December 6th). “Deluxe Edition B” contains live footage containing all the songs “The HISTORY” from the second day (December 7th), while “Limited Edition” contains live footage containing all the songs “The HITS” from the first day (December 6th) and “The HISTORY” from the second day (December 7th).

The pre-released single “Side by Side (feat. Char)” has once again collaborated with Char, 19 years after “Stereocaster.” The official YouTube channel has released three special guitar-loving special conversations, “HOTEI X CHAR SPECIAL TALK SESSION,” which are full of guitar love, including the production of the two of them and their future visions as guitarists.

It also includes his first collaboration with Denki Groove’s Ishino Takuten, “Move Your Body (feat. Ishino Takuten).” In addition, the lyrics include familiar musicians from THE YELLOW MONKEY, including Yoshii Kazuya, Mori Yukinosuke, drummer Yamaki Hideo, bassist Ken Ken, Inoue Tomio, keyboardist Okuno Shinya, and programming Kishi Toshimi, and familiar musicians.

To commemorate the release of this work, “Bar BEAT EMOTION,” a POP up bar where you can experience the world of GUITARHYTHM and new whiskey as quickly as possible, will be open at Omotesando ZeroBase for a limited time until Monday, April 21st. This POP UP bar is a newly re-appeared “Bar BEAT EMOTION,” which was held for a week only in April 2023 and was well received, and is a luxurious bar that will be available in a variety of styles, as before, with the new whiskey scheduled to be released in late May.

From the exterior to the entrance, the venue is decorated with a vivid colored “G pattern” design, a new whiskey design, and the actual product of the latest HOTEI model guitar, “Zodiac NEO Eternal Legacy HOTEI Model,” will be displayed at the entrance on the first floor. There are photo spots where barrels actually used to aged whiskey and finished bottles of new whiskey are lined up. On the second floor, there will be an exhibition space that will introduce the history of all eight works in the “GUITARHYTHM” series, including the historical background at the time of release. You can trace the trajectory of “GUITARHYTHM” through photos and explanations. As a special bonus for visitors, when you order a drink in-store, you will receive a special coaster with a label motif from a new whiskey, and those who purchase this CD on the first floor on a first-come, first-served basis will receive original goods that can only be obtained here.

In addition, there will be an exhibition and panel exhibition of artist photo costumes from “GUITARHYTHM VIII” and live costumes from “LIVE IN BUDOKAN ~The HOTEI~ “Super Hits & History”” for a limited time.
