Universal Music LLC (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Hisashi; hereinafter referred to as “Universal Music”) will release Shiina Ringo’s new album “Hojoya” (pronounced: Hojoya) on Wednesday, May 29th.
Shiina Ringo has just celebrated her 25th anniversary since her debut. This new album, her first in five years, contains 13 songs. Along with songs produced with muses such as Utada Hikaru, AI, Nocchi (Perfume), Momo (Charan-Po-Rantan), Daoko, Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders, and Nakajima Ikki (tricot, Jenny High), the album also includes her latest single “Ningen to shite” and new versions of her singles “I Am a Cat’s Eye,” “Saraba Junjou,” and “Itowokashi.” In her previous album “Sandokushi,” released in 2019, duets with male guests were placed on even-numbered tracks, but in this album, duets with female guests are placed on odd-numbered tracks.
Advance ticket sales will be available exclusively to purchasers of this album for the band’s first arena tour in six years since 2018, “Nama Ringo Haku ’24 – Economic Recovery.” The sales period will run from 6:00 PM on Monday, July 8th until 11:59 PM on Tuesday, July 16th, and applications can be made on a special page using the “WaiWai Serial Number” included with the CD. The arena tour will kick off on October 5th at the Aomori Prefectural Skating Rink/Mori Transport Arena, and will cover 10 shows at 7 venues across the country. Born November 25, 1978 in Fukuoka City
Debuted in 1998 with the single “Kofukuron.” Musician and stage director. Head of the band Tokyo Incidents.
In addition to his own activities, he is also actively involved in the performances of singers, dancers and actors, as well as providing music for stage productions, films, advertisements and TV programs.
In 2009, he received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists.
In 2016, he served as the production and music director for the flag handover ceremony at the closing ceremony of the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games, which received high praise both at home and abroad.
In 2019, he released the original album “Sandokushi” and the best album “Newton’s Apple ~My First Best Album~”.
In 2023, he released his first remix album, “Hyakuyaku no Cho.”
