Yumi Matsutoya’s charity single “acacia / Haru yo, Koi (Nina Kraviz Remix)” will be released on Wednesday, May 29th!

Universal Music LLC (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Hisashi; hereinafter referred to as “Universal Music”) will release Yumi Matsutoya’s charity single “acacia/Haru yo, Koi (Nina Kraviz Remix)” on Wednesday, May 29th.

The latest song, “acacia,” is included in the artist’s 31st original album, “acacia,” released in 2001. The song was written after the artist was inspired by the sight of a cluster of blooming acacia trees in Uchinada Town, Kahoku County, Ishikawa Prefecture.

The sale will be made with the aim of donating the proceeds to Ishikawa Prefecture as relief funds for the Noto Peninsula earthquake disaster of 2024.

The photo on the cover was taken by Yumi Matsutoya herself, as she wanted to capture the scenery that is burned into her heart in Ishikawa Prefecture, which she calls her “second hometown.” The photo on the cover’s smartphone was taken of Tarumi Falls in Oku-Noto when she visited Noto in August 2015 after she was appointed tourism producer for Ishikawa Prefecture.

Also known as “Fukiage Falls,” this rare waterfall flows like a white thread directly from the mountain into the sea, and is a rare sight even across Japan. “Acacia,” born from the beautiful and unforgettable scenery of Ishikawa, has been conveyed through music and visuals in this work.
