Universal Music LLC (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Hisashi; hereinafter referred to as “Universal Music”) will release the ultimate collection of John Lennon’s fourth solo album, “Mind Games (A Nutopia Manifesto),” as a 6CD + 2 Blu-ray deluxe edition, on Friday, July 12th.
This is a 6CD + 2 Blu-ray deluxe edition of the ultimate collection of John Lennon’s fourth solo album, Mind Games, released on October 29th, 1973 in the US and on November 16th in the UK.
The Deluxe Edition presents Mind Games in a 10″ x 10″ box the same size and shape as Gimme Some Truth, Imagine Ultimate Collection and The Ultimate Collection, and contains 72 songs and over seven hours of music across six CDs and two HD Blu-ray audio discs. There are plenty of hidden audio tracks, hidden video tracks, secret messages and other Easter eggs scattered throughout the set.
The new music video for “Aisumasen” included in the Ultimate Collection is a never-before-seen black-and-white video filmed by John Lennon himself in 1973 on a Sony Portapac portable video camera recorder. The video features footage from a variety of perspectives, including footage of their recently moved-in New York apartment, John filming the Dakota and Central Park across the street, and his own reflection (and the camera) in his bedroom mirror, Yoko playing on a transistor radio in her music room, Yoko answering phone calls for press interviews for her acclaimed album, Infinite Universe, and Yoko gazing out at the surroundings of her new apartment and the street below from her window.
