“Blue Period” movie POP-UP STORE opens in Harajuku, Tokyo from Thursday, July 25th!

Universal Music LLC (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Hisashi; hereafter referred to as Universal Music) will be hosting a pop-up store for the movie “Blue Period” for a limited time only from July 25th (Thursday) to August 4th (Sunday) at the UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE HARAJUKU in Harajuku, Tokyo. The store will sell original goods such as “music keychains” with limited designs. The theme song for the movie is “NOISE” by WurtS.

The series began serialization in the monthly Afternoon magazine in June 2017. The popular manga “Blue Period” (by Tsubasa Yamaguchi) has been highly praised both in Japan and overseas, including winning the Manga Taisho Award 2020, and has sold over 7 million copies in total. Starring Maeda Godon, the live-action film will be directed by Kentaro Hagiwara and released nationwide on Friday, August 9th.

To commemorate the release of the film, a pop-up store for the film will be set up for a limited time from July 25th (Thursday) to August 4th (Sunday) at UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE HARAJUKU on Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Tokyo.

The venue will be selling advance sales of original “Blue Period” merchandise, which will go on sale from the release date, as well as “music keychains” (2 types) with limited edition designs that can only be purchased at this POP-UP SHOP or Universal Music’s official online store, UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE. WurtS original merchandise is also planned to be on sale.

The music keychain is a circular shape that resembles a 46mm diameter analog record, and can be used as a regular keychain. Bring your smartphone close to it to enjoy the theme song’s music video (YouTube). The front is decorated with a visual of Maeda Godon, making it an item that combines the movie, visuals, and theme song.

WurtS is scheduled to release their second album on Wednesday, October 30th. In addition to the movie theme song “NOISE,” the album will include songs featuring artists and famous musicians, dance tunes produced with DTM, and songs that have been performed in advance on the national tour that began in May. In addition, the band has announced that they will hold their first solo concert at Nippon Budokan, “WurtS LIVE AT BUDOKAN,” on Thursday, October 31st.
