Universal Music LLC (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Hisashi; hereinafter referred to as “Universal Music”) will release Sabrina Carpenter’s album “Short n’ Sweet” on Friday, August 23rd.
Sabrina Carpenter, a singer and actress from Pennsylvania, is a pop icon representing her generation, having made her debut in 2015 with her fifth album, “Emails I Can’t Send,” which was ranked as one of Rolling Stone’s best albums of 2022. “Nonsense” from the album became a huge hit on TikTok.
The album features Aimee Allen, Julia Michaels, Steph Jones, Jon Ryan, Julian Bunetta and Jack Antonoff, all of whom collaborated with Sabrina.
Regarding the track “Taste,” Sabrina said:“‘Taste’ is one of my favourite songs on the album. It’s a song that pokes fun at the mistakes we make and the situations life and relationships can put us in and the cringey situations they can put us in. It’s a lighthearted and fun thing about someone you care about moving on to someone else, which is a very human thing and this song does it in a really light-hearted way.”He commented,
The music video stars Jenna Ortega, a young up-and-coming actress known for her starring role in the Netflix original series “Wednesday.” The video was directed by Grammy Award-winning Dave Meyers, who also directed the music video for the smash hit single “Espresso,” which topped the Billboard Global 200 chart for three weeks in total, the Global/Excluding US chart for four consecutive weeks, and topped the chart for eight weeks in total. The video will premiere at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23rd, Japan time.
With this album, Sabrina will embark on a 33-date North American arena tour, starting with a performance in Columbus, Ohio on September 23rd local time.
