The theme song for Fuji TV’s Monday 9pm drama “The Sea’s Beginning,” back number’s “To New Lovers,” will be released on Wednesday, September 11th!

Universal Music LLC (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Hisashi; hereinafter referred to as “Universal Music”) will release back number’s 22nd CD single, “To Atarashii Koibito-tachi ni,” on Wednesday, September 11th.

This will be the first CD single in about three years and will be released in three formats and five different packages: a first press limited edition (Blu-ray ver./DVD ver.), a regular edition, and a fan club limited edition (Blu-ray ver./DVD ver.).

The title song, “For New Lovers,” was written as the theme song for the Fuji TV Monday 9pm drama “The Beginning of the Sea.” It was released on July 15th (Marine Day), and ranked first on the weekly, daily, and real-time 55 charts, and won first place on the Billboard JAPAN comprehensive song chart “JAPAN Hot 100” released on July 24th (collection period: July 15th to July 21st, 2024). A special movie in collaboration with the drama’s main footage has also been released.

The CD (first limited edition and regular edition) includes the new song “Map of Paradise” in addition to “New Lovers”. The first limited edition (Blu-ray ver./DVD ver.) includes the bonus video “back number live archive selection”, which is a ranking of the best live performances selected by fan club members from the tours that have been filmed since their major debut, and original content including a look back talk by the members.

The fan club limited edition (Blu-ray ver./DVD ver.) includes “back number live archive selection,” as well as “back number exclusive video,” a video of the three members of back number trying to make food from a certain country they have never heard of or eaten before. The CD also includes a bonus track, a re-recording of the limited single “Queen’s Monkey,” which was released exclusively for the fan club in 2021.

Back Number is currently on their arena tour “anti sleeps tour 2024,” which kicked off at Ehime Budokan and will consist of 32 shows at 15 locations across the country in a band-battle format, inviting their first guest artist.
