Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic’s 1966 analog recording period recording “Bruckner: Symphony No. 9” will be released on November 27th (Wednesday)!

Universal Music LLC (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Fujikura / Universal Music) is pleased to announce the release of “Bruckner: Symphony No. 9” by Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. “Ban” will be released on November 27th (Wednesday).

“Bruckner: Symphony No. 9”, which was recorded in 1966 during the analog recording period by Herbert von Karajan, one of the leading conductors of the 20th century, with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, is available on the first SA-CD ~ SHM specification. It will be released. This work, which will be released for the first time in SA-CD to SHM format, uses a DSD master produced by Berlin’s Emil Berliner Studio using original analog masters ordered from Deutsche Grammophon. The jacket features the same design as the original LP, making it a fitting piece to commemorate Bruckner’s 200th anniversary this year.

Karajan has recorded Bruckner’s Ninth Symphony twice with the Berlin Philharmonic, the first of which was in 1966, at the Church of Jesus Christ in Berlin. The Church of Jesus Christ is also known as a recording studio where many masters left their recordings, and Karajan continued to record at this location even after the Philharmonic was completed.
