Beautiful pianist Ryo Gojoin held his first concert of 2024 at the Hirosaki Civic Center on Sunday, January 28th.
Although Gojoin is based in Tokyo, he is originally from Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, and about 1,000 fans visited the venue on this day, which was his first homecoming concert.

The Hirosaki Civic Center is located in a corner of the Hirosaki Castle ruins (Hirosaki Park) overlooking Mt. Iwaki to the west, and is decorated with old pine trees and cherry blossoms in spring. It is widely loved by citizens as a place where they can enjoy excellent music and performing arts, and where citizens can participate in cultural activities such as cultural festivals.
The large hall where Gojoin performed this time is famous for the thin boards used as wall materials that produce long reverberation times and impressive acoustic effects, and its acoustics are said to be among the best in Japan. .

This day’s live performance mainly consisted of original songs and the Showa pop song cover album “Oaishu” with the theme of love. In addition, Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”, which was played when Gojoin won the show “TEPPEN-Piano-“, which determines the No. 1 piano in the entertainment world, and Ado’s “Ussewa”, which shocked society. They also performed a cover of “Tomorrow is Oh Hare,” and above all, a new song that they had written especially for this day. This song will be aired as the theme song for a local news program starting in April.

A total of 20 songs were performed during the passionate 120-minute performance. Of course, Gojoin’s familiar Gojoin language, which adds an “o” to every word, was still alive and well, and combined with the warm local atmosphere, the venue was very lively.

Ryo Gojoin suddenly descended into the world of TikTok from Hirosaki and became a big hit after the TEPPEN piano showdown.
