UK punk/folk rocker Frank Turner releases single “Do One” with Dizzy Sunfist!

British punk/folk rocker Frank Turner teams up with Dizzy Sunfist for the first time. New single “Do One (Feat. ayapeta Of Dizzy Sunfist)” was released today, November 29th!

“Do One” is the lead single from Frank Turner’s 10th album “Undefeated”, released in May 2024. So far, they have released a co-star version with the German punk rock band DONOTS, and a co-star version with the Italian rock band FAST ANIMALS AND SLOW KIDS. In the newly announced joint version, Dizzy Sunfist’s Ayapeta (Vo/Gt) teaches them Japanese, and they sing together in Japanese. This song, which is very popular with fans, has been reborn as an even more fun collaboration single.

Regarding the “Do One” collaboration, Frank Turner said, “For this album, I decided to choose one song and sing it in another language. I sang the lead single, “Do One,” first in German, then in German. I decided to sing in Italian, and this time in Japanese. It’s a fun challenge for me, and it also shows my respect for my overseas fans. I received help with the translation and had a very valuable collaboration opportunity.”

Regarding Dizzy Sunfist, who he said he met through a mutual friend, I’m so honored to be collaborating with Aya, who is a great singer in a great band, but she was also a great teacher, helping me overcome the challenge of singing in Japanese, which I knew nothing about. She was very patient. He’s a strong and fun person to work with. He did a great job both in coaching me and singing this track, and it’s my first time in Japan. I am very excited as I am making plans.”

Ayapeta of Dizzy Sunfist also commented below.

I’m honored to be able to perform the Japanese version of such a wonderful song. frank’s Japanese song is so cool I’m pumping my fist! Then, during NOFX’s last show, I got to see them live for the first time, and I was moved by the way they confidently performed with only an acoustic guitar. Frank Turner will also be holding his first solo headline performance at Shibuya WWW X on December 10th. It has also been announced that Takuma (TAKUMA/10-FEET) will appear as a support act for the memorable first performance in Japan, and tickets are currently on sale to the general public.
