Universal Music LLC (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Nao / hereinafter referred to as Universal Music) will release Lady Gaga’s seventh new album, MAYHEM, on Friday, March 7th.
Lady Gaga won the top spot on the US charts for her hit song “Die With A Smile” with Bruno Mars for eight consecutive weeks, and recorded 1.06 billion views of the world’s streaming worldwide.
This work follows the 2020 album “Chromatica,” and explores the themes of “chaos” and “transformation” and returns to his own pop roots. The pre-single singles “Disease” and “Die With A Smile (with Bruno Mars)” are also featured, with Lady Gaga, Michael Polanski and Andrew Watt serving as executive producers. Producers include Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, Circuit and Gesafelstein. The track “Garden of Eden” has been decided to be the official theme song for the 2025 season of the US ESPN, which is popular all over the world.
“The album began by facing the fear of returning to pop music that my early fans loved,” Gaga described the creation process as “like rebuilding a shattered mirror. Even if the pieces cannot be perfectly restored, they can create beautiful, perfect in new forms.”
The Japanese edition will be released in three formats, with the regular edition containing bonus tracks, as well as a deluxe edition with a 16-page, completely original special photobook and stickers, as well as a limited edition with a Japanese belt.
To commemorate the release, a special program will be streamed on YouTube from 9pm on the release date of March 7th. The program will be streaming live footage and music videos of popular songs and songs from new albums for approximately 60 minutes. The chat section will also be released, so you can enjoy interacting with other fans.
